Biography
Antonio Agnesi is Associate Professor at the Dept. of Electronics at the University of Pavia since 2000, where he is responsible for the Laser Source Laboratory. In 2014 he received the national qualification for full professorship. His teaching duties at the Faculty of Engineering included Physics 1 and 2 (mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism), Quantum Electronics and Design of Industrial Lasers. His professional interests are in the field of diode-pumped solid-state and fiber lasers (especially ultrafast sources) and applied nonlinear optics. His contribution to these research fields are documented by more than 180 papers on technical journals and conference proceedings, 7 books chapters and 2 patents. In 1998 he helped start Bright Solutions S.r.l., spin-off of the Laser Source Laboratory employing highly qualified professionals in the field of industrial and scientific laser technology.
Research Interest
Solid state laser sources. Nonlinear optics applied to sources: generation of ultrasonic pulses and frequency conversion. Power Amplifiers. Fiber laser. Measurement of spatial quality of laser beams.
