Biography
Giampaolo Arachi is a full professor of Public Finance at the University of Salento. He graduated cum laude in Economics and Social Sciences at Bocconi University (Italy) in 1991. He subsequently received his M.Phil. in economics from the University of Oxford in 1994 and his Doctoral Degree in Public Finance from the University of Pavia in 1995. Prior to coming to Lecce in 2001 he was assistant professor at Bocconi University since 1994. He is a member of the Econpubblica research center - Bocconi University and of the Steering Committee of INTR (International Network for Tax Research). At the University of Salento he is the director of the Ph.D. program in Economics and Quantitative Methods. His main research interests are the optimum taxation theory, the theoretical and empirical analysis of tax competition and fiscal federalism and the effects of tax on capital and corporate income.
