Biography
Giovanni Gozzini (Florence 1955) teaches Contemporary History and History of Journalism at the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy of the University of Siena. He is the author of studies on Florence in the nineteenth century ( Florence , Florence, Florence 1989, The Secret of Almsgiving , Florence 1994) on the history of the Nazi extermination ( The road to Auschwitz , Milan 1996), on the history of the PCI ( History of the Italian Communist Party , v.7, From Attack to Togliatti at the 8th Congress , Turin 1998), on the History of Journalism ( History of Journalism , Milan 2000) on the History of International Migrations ( Migrations of Yesterday and Today: A Comparative History , Milan 2006 ) and on the history of globalization ( An idea of ​​justice , Turin 2010). He is a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Passato e presente", from 2000 to 2007 he was director of the Gabinetto Vieusseux of Florence and from 2007 to 2008 he was the culture councilor of the Municipality of Florence.
