Biography
Ordinary Professor of Microbiology and Virology Doctor of Research in Microbiological Science Specialist in Clinical Immunology and Allergology Born in Pesaro on December 10, 1962, he graduated in Classical Maturity at the "Raffaello" high school in Urbino in 1981 and in July 1987 graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome. She holds a PhD in Microbiological and Virological Sciences at the University of Genoa. He attended Visiting Student for a total of two years at Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta and the Wistar Institute at the University of Pennsylvania in the laboratories of Dr. Hilary Koprowski and Carlo Maria Croce Since 1988 he has been a Visting Scientist at the Center for Molecular Genetics at the University of California, San Diego, since 1991 he has been visiting the Investigator at the Department of Immunology at Scripps Research Institute La Jolla, California, USA in Dr. Dennis R Burton . In November 1995 he took up service as a Certified Researcher at the Gemelli Policlinico of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome; in 1999 he moved to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ancona where from 2000 to 2004 he held the chair of Virology at the Faculty of Science. Since 2004 she has been employed at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the San Raffaele Health and Life University of Milan, first as Associate Professor, then as Ordinary Professor of Microbiology and Virology. He is responsible for an immunologic research laboratory designed to study the immune response against human pathogens, to the development of drugs based on recombinant human monoclonal antibodies and the use of molecular instruments for early diagnosis of infectious diseases He is the author of many scientific papers in international journals and has been a speaker at many international congresses. He is the holder of international patents for molecular immunology procedures, human monoclonal antibodies and immunological drugs. Since 2010 she is director of the School of Specialization in Microbiology and Virology. Since 2016 he has been President of the Degree in Dental Hygiene.
