Biography
Femke van Noorloos is assistant professor of International Development Studies (IDS, Human Geography & Planning, Faculty of Geosciences, Utrecht University). She is a social science researcher with a broad interest in international development. Her research focuses on urban development in Africa and Latin America; particularly on land issues in urban settings, urban land governance, and private sector investment in urban development, also in relation to transnational mobilities. She is affiliated with the LANDac network and programme (see descriptions under 'Research'). Femke did her PhD at IDS Utrecht University, on the topic of residential tourism and transnational property investment in Costa Rica (graduated December 2012).
