Biography
Karin van Es received her PhD from Utrecht University in 2014 with a dissertation on the concept 'live' in media studies. Her book "The Future of Live" was published at Polity Press in 2016. She co-edited "The Datafied Society: Studying Culture through Data" with Mirko Tobias Schäfer, which was published at the Amsterdam University Press in 2017. Her research and teaching concerns the intersection of television and new media. Together with Mirko Tobias Schaefer she coordinates the research hub 'Datafied Society'.
