Earth Sciences - Experimental rock deformation
Utrecht University
Netherlands
Biography
In March 2015, Mariska started working as a PhD candidate at both the High Pressure and Temperature (HPT) Laboratory and the Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development. She enjoys working on interdisciplinary projects that are both theoretical and practical. With her research Mariska hopes to contribute to the scientific community, while remaining relevant for society. Scientific intrests include: the interplay of mechanical and chemical processes controlling the deformation behaviour of rock, geo-energy and CO2 storage. In addition, since October 2016, Mariska represents PhD candidates in both the Geo PhD Council and PROUT. From May 2017 onward, she is also a member of the Program Committee at the Faculty Club of Utrecht University.
