Biography
Martha Frederiks (1965) studied Theology and Islam at Utrecht University and the Duncan Black MacDonald Institute in Hartford CT. From 1993 to 1999 she worked and lived in West Africa. Since 1999 she has worked at Utrecht University, where she has her dissertation We Have Toiled All Night in 2003 . Christianity in The Gambia defended 1456-2000 (cum laude). From 2007-2014 she was a special professor of Missiology at the University of Utrecht: World Christianity and Interreligious Dialogue. In 2014 she was appointed Professor of World Christian Studies. Since July 1, 2013 she is head of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies.
