Biography
Merlin Hurx obtained his degree in Art History at Utrecht University cum laude in 2004. He continued his studies with a Research Master Art History in Utrecht (cum laude, 2006). From 2006 he conducted a PhD research at the Department of Architecture of Delft University of Technology. Currently he is a university lecturer of medieval architecture history at the Department of History and Art History of Utrecht University. His research focuses on design and construction practice in the late Middle Ages and early modern times. In 2012, an editing of his dissertation was published: Architect and Contractor. The rise of the construction market in the Netherlands 1350-1530.
