Biography

  Dr. Kapil Dhingra, M.B.B.S., M.D., Ph.D., founded KAPital Consulting LLC in June 2008. Dr. Dhingra has been Head of KAPital Consulting LLC since June 2008 and serves as its Managing Member. He serves as a Consultant at Oncos Therapeutics Ltd. Dr. Dhingra provided strategic development leadership resulting in a track record of global oncology drug approvals, including numerous indications for Herceptin(R), MabThera(R), Xeloda(R), Bondronat(R), Tarceva(R) and Avastin(R). He has over 25 years of experience in oncology clinical research and drug development, including nine years at Roche Pharmaceuticals, where he played a key role in the expansion of Roche Oncology. Dr. Dhingra has been active in oncology clinical research for over 20 years. During his tenure at Hoffmann-La Roche from 1999 to 2008, he built the largest oncology clinical development department in the industry. In 1999, he joined Hoffmann-La Roche as Clinical Science Leader. Throughout his industry career, he maintained an active faculty appointment, initially at Indiana University School of Medicine from 1997 to 1999 as Clinical Associate Professor and at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center from 2000 to 2008. Dr. Dhingra was a faculty member at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center from 1989 to 1996, where he conducted clinical and laboratory research and also providing direct patient care responsibilities. He worked at Eli Lilly & Co. From 1999 to June 2008, Dr. Dhingra worked in positions at Roche, as Head Oncology Disease Biology Leadership Team and Head of Oncology Clinical Development. He served as Vice President of Oncology at Roche since 2002. He played a key role in the dramatic expansion of Roche oncology enterprise. In 2007, he was appointed Leader of Disease Biology Leadership Team, within Roche’s R&D model. From 1996 to 1999, Dr. Dhingra served at Eli Lilly and Company as Clinical Research Physician with responsibility for the global development strategy of a novel Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator. He has been the Chairman of Exosome Diagnostics, Inc. since April 2013. He serves as the Chairman of Clinical Advisory Board at Karus Therapeutics Limited. Dr. Dhingra serves as a Advisor of Forbion Capital Partners. Dr. Dhingra has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Advanced Accelerator Applications S.A. since March 2014. Dr. Dhingra has been a Non Executive Director of Algeta ASA since April 2010. He has been a Director of YM Biosciences Inc. since November 20, 2012. He has been Director of Exosome Diagnostics, Inc. since March 28, 2012. Dr. Dhingra serves as a Director of SARC. Dr. Dhingra has been a Director of Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc., since December 2, 2015. Dr. Dhingra serves as a Director at Autolus Limited. He has been a Director of MEDIAN Technologies S.A. since November 2012. He served as a Director of Epitherapeutics. He served as Director of Coferon, Inc. Dr. Dhingra served as a Director of Micromet, Inc. from February 2009 to March 2, 2012 and a Director of BioVex, Inc. since July 22, 2010. He has been Member of Oncology Scientific Advisory Board at Asana BioSciences, LLC since January 04, 2016. Dr. Dhingra serves on the Editorial Board of Future Drugs and the Editorial Advisory Board of R&D Directions. He serves as a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Cadila Healthcare Limited. He has been a Member of the Clinical Advisory Board at Oncos Therapeutics Ltd. since July 2012. He advises Forbion on opportunities in the oncology space. He serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Intellikine LLC. He served as Member of Scientific & Clinical Advisory Board at Heat Biologics, Inc., since October 2015. Dr. Dhingra served as a Member of the Clinical Advisory Board at Biocon Limited. In his academic career, he received several research grants from the National Cancer Institute as well as from major oncology pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and built an impressive record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Dhingra has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications and abstracts. He is a Medical Oncologist and Physician-Scientist. He received his Internal Medicine Residency at Lincoln Medical Center, New York and a Hematology-Oncology fellowship at Emory University, Atlanta. Dr. Dhingra obtained his medical oncology training at Emory University from 1986 to 1988 and has performed postgraduate work at the All India Institute of Medical Services, the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center (New York Medical College), Bronx and Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta. Dr. Dhingra holds a Ph.D and received his MBBS degree and medical training from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 1981.
