Biography
Ana Teresa (PhD) is co-founder/shareholder of HeartGenetics. She holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and a Master degree in Electronics Engineering. She attended the Advanced Management Program on Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Católica Lisbon – BES, School of Business and Economics (2013). Her main expertise is on the areas of Computational Biology, Human genetics, Algorithms and Data Mining. For the last 15 years she has co-authored about 90 papers in journals and international conferences in the areas of computational biology and bioinformatics, 2 book chapters, supervised 6 PhDs and more than 14 master students. As a researcher at INESC-ID, she was the head (2009-2014) of the Knowledge Discovery and Bioinformatics research group (KDBIO http://kdbio.inesc-id.pt. She also coordinated international projects under FP7 and many Portuguese National projects. As a Full Professor at Técnico Lisboa, University of Lisbon, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, she created the Computational Biology course; she is presently the coordinator of the Scientific Area of Programming Methodology and Technology at Department of Computer Science and Engineering. She is Vice-chair of the Board for 2017 and Board member (representing Portugal)
