Biography
Tiago holds an M.Sc. in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience, and he has conducted research in different labs in Portugal, Germany, Sweden and the United States. As a fellow of the Gulbenkian Ph.D. Program in Biomedicine he spent 5 years at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and in 2009 he was the recipient of the "Eva Kavan Prize for Excellence in Research on the Brain". He was the Vice-President of the "Portuguese American Postgraduate Society" (PAPS), and was the founder of Papaformigas.com, a search engine of Portuguese scientists.

His research interest is in microbiology in biomedical.
