Biography
Dr.Ahmed Altyar is the Vice Dean for Development and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University KAU, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from KAU and then received an Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Practice Certificate from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 2012. Dr. Altyar also completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency and an ASHP-Accredited specialized residency in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson, formerly known as University of Arizona Medical Center – University Campus. In 2014 Dr. Altyar completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Outcomes and Comparative Effectiveness Research at the Center for Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomic Research (HOPE) Center. In 2016, he was awarded a post-graduate Diploma in teaching and learning from KAU. His current research focuses on cost effectiveness, pharmacotherapy of chronic diseases & medical education. His areas of interest include clinical outcomes, Interprofessional Education, drug safety, and academia.
