Lionel Lim

Biography

Lionel brings a diverse breadth of scientific experience to the table, having trained in microbiology, stem cell and cancer laboratories. He is proficient in numerous molecular biology techniques and adept at the latest in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. Lionel was previously the laboratory manager at POLARIS@GIS, one of the first laboratories in Asia to receive College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation specifically for the use of NGS as a core clinical service. There, he led a diverse team in managing various aspects of Clinical Laboratory Operations including financial planning, assay development, workflow assignment, LIMS and IT integration, process improvement, quality management and safety. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California – San Francisco, both funded by a National Science Scholarship from the Agency for Science Technology and Research.
