Ronald Machaka

Biography

Machaka holds a PhD in material science and engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. He was appointed CSIR senior researcher in 2012. He plays a vital role in the establishment of a metal injection moulding core-competence at the CSIR and the development of commercial or industrial products. He is also responsible for processing, characterisation and evaluation of material systems in general. More recent research interests have focused on the metal injection moulding and processing of biomedical materials. Machaka has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals.

Research Interest

Machaka’s research interest lies in titanium powder metallurgy, with a focus on metal injection moulding processing.
