Biography
Dr Jennifer Fitchett is currently working as Associate Professor of Geography at University of Witwatersrand
Research Interest
His research explores local to global climatology over periods of tens of thousands of years, to the last few decades. This includes the variability and long-term trajectories of change in the synoptic climatology of tropical cyclones, mid-latitude cyclones, and precipitation seasonality; the reconstruction of past climates using fossil pollen and diatoms; and the analysis of the contemporary suitability of the climate of destinations for tourism, and the long term impacts of climate change on the tourism sector.
