Biography
Mandeep Kaur is currently working as Associate Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology at University of Witwatersrand. Academic thrust: Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Research field: Cancer biomarkers, Cholesterol and Cancer link, Bioinformatics, High throughput anticancer screening, Assay development.
Research Interest
Broadly, her focus is to understand the molecular biology of diseases, mainly cancer and autism. She is involved in understanding the molecular basis of diseases by utilizing epidemiological, cell biology, bioinformatics and molecular genetics based methods. A combination of bioinformatics and laboratory techniques are utilized to study the complexity of mechanistic pathways underlying health and disease, which enables identification of biomarkers for disease diagnosis and facilitate drug development.
