Biography
Prof Roger Gibson is currently working as Associate Professor of Geosciences at University of Witwatersrand. Main fields of specialization: Structural geology, tectonics, metamorphic petrology, impact processes.
Research Interest
Research Interests: Interaction between thermal, magmatic, fluid and tectonic processes in metamorphic terranes including the Witwatersrand basin and its mineralization, the Vredefort Dome, the Damara Belt and the Bushveld aureole, and the deformation and metamorphic effects of impacts; the Vredefort, Morokweng, Chesapeake Bay (USA) and Oasis (Libya) impact structures.
