Biography
Dr. Armin Metzger has responsibility for designing and executing the Pharmaceutical Research and Development strategy, focusing on formulation, device and process development. He also chairs the committee responsible for portfolio management of the early pipeline. Dr. Metzger joined Ferring from Merck Serono, where he worked for 17 years in Germany, the United States, Italy and Switzerland. He started as a Laboratory Manager, working in different leadership positions in Quality Control, Analytical Development, Project Management, Pharmaceutical and Process Development, as well as in Medical Device Development and finally holding a position as Senior Vice President, Head of Global Biotech Manufacturing and Development. Armin Metzger has a Ph.D. from the University of Bayreuth, Germany in Biochemistry followed by a Postdoc at the Medical Research Council, Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK.
