Biography
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the director’s office, keeping the TDR web site up-to-date and supporting the communications activities of the department. Iza has been at TDR since 2001, initially working in the diagnostics unit, then the malaria unit followed by the external relations and governance team. She started her career in the Center for Microbiological Research and Autovaccines in Poland, where she worked as assistant in charge of information and technical affairs. A highlight for her has been the opportunity to interact with researchers participating in TDR-funded projects – “It’s given me a lot of satisfaction to see the significant positive changes they were able to make.” An eternal optimist who thrives on accomplishment and forward motion, she sees her work as an opportunity to acquire new skills and she takes pleasure in TDR’s friendly work environment and organizational culture. “There is a sense of unity in TDR, the acceptance and tolerance of differences in perspectives and working styles between colleagues,” she observes.
