Biography

AyÅŸe SaÄŸduyu Kocaman received her medicine degree from Hacettepe University Medical School in 1985. She completed compulsory medical service at Ankara Numune and, İzmir YeÅŸilyurt State Hospitals’ Emergency Services.Dr. SaÄŸduyu Kocaman started her neurology career as a resident in 1987 at Ege University Medical School Neurology Department. She worked at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, Oregon USA in the neuroimmunology field for 6 months in1990.She continued working at the Ege University Medical School Neurology Department as a fellow neurology specialist from 1991, serving and making researches in Neurological Intensive Care, Cerebrovascular Diseases and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. SaÄŸduyu Kocaman became an associate professor in1995 and got Professor of Neurology degree in 2002.Prof. SaÄŸduyu Kocaman was appointed to be a member of the Faculty Board and worked actively between 2003 – 2006, acting also as the training coordinator of neurological sciences. Prof. SaÄŸduyuKocaman was elected to be the chairperson of the Neurology Department of Ege University in 2009 and retired in 2011 at this position.Prof. SaÄŸduyuKocaman then started to work at Acıbadem Maslak Hospital and Acıbadem University Medical School Neurology Department. She is the founder and the first president of The Neurointensive Care Working Group of Turkish Neurology Society and holds a subspecialty degree in Intensive Care Medicine.

Prof. SaÄŸduyu Kocaman is specialized on neurological intensive care, neurological emergencies, cerebrovascular diseases and demyelinating diseases-especially multiple sclerosis
