Biography
He completed his undergraduate education as a scholarship student in the Department of International Relations of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Near East University. He continued his postgraduate education in the same department. He received his master's degree from Marmara University, European Union Institute, European Union Politics and International Relations Department with his thesis entitled "European Union Politics towards the Middle East since 1980". He worked as a research assistant in Kocaeli University, International Relations (2000-2002) and Marmara University, Political Science and International Relations (2002-2010). EUROMESCO, TUBITAK and Regional Jean Monnet scholarships and Hungary, Budapest, Teleki Lázsló Institute (Hungary International Relations Institute), Center for Foreign Policy Research; Poland, Krakow, Jagiellonian University, Center for European Studies and the United Kingdom, Oxford University was a guest researcher at the Islamic World Research Center. Åženel, who received articles on the European Union, Turkish Foreign Policy and Cyprus in the understanding magazine, has published articles in various books and magazines. His work focuses on security-identity-order relation, Turkish foreign policy, Cyprus, European Union politics and international relations, European Union's Middle East policy and neighborhood politics.
Research Interest
There are two books which he made his editorial with Åženel's consultancy and a documentary film work entitled "Forgotten Foundation Heritage: Cyprus" which he wrote.
