Biography
Corbett Battaile is principal member, technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories. A member of the Sandia National Laboratories staff since 1998, Battaile focuses primarily on the use of computer modeling and simulation to study microstructure-to-properties relationships and multiscale materials mechanics for applications in a variety of fields including shock physics, materials aging, and component reliability. He earned his doctorate in materials science and scientific computing from the University of Michigan. Battaile has served as a JOM advisor, as well as a member of the TMS Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) Committee, the Content Development and Dissemination Committee, and the Materials Processing & Manufacturing Division (MPMD) Council. A TMS member for more than 11 years, Battaile was also a member of the study team for the Modeling Across Scales roadmapping study organized by TMS and sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
