Dr. Kay Deeming

Biography

 Dr. Kay Deeming qualified as a medical practitioner from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, University of London 1991 and gained her Membership for the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) in 1996. Kay has been working in Dubai as a Family Medicine Specialist for the past decade. She initially worked full time for 6 years as a company doctor for Emirates Airline where she balanced the roles of corporate medicine with family medicine, aviation medicine & occupational health. Subsequently, Kay worked part time in a private clinic providing general practice care to mainly the expatriate community. During this decade, she has built up a good next work of specialist consultants within the Dubai area when further medical intervention is required for her patients. Kay is delighted to join the team at Dubai Physiotherapy Clinic in September 2015. Prior to moving overseas, Kay had a successful GP Partnership in West London for seven years along with a weekly secondment session to the Rheumatology Department in Charing Cross Hospital. There she developed an interest in musculoskeletal medicine, whereas in her own general practice she specialised in women’s health care issues. Her initial hospital rotations were at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital London. In contrast, her general practice training year took her to a remote rural practice in the Scottish Highlands with its own Cottage Hospital and Maternity Unit. During her career of practising medicine, Kay has developed a patient-orientated approach to health care. She enjoys practising integrative medicine by caring for the patient both physically and mentally, knowing the patient’s family members, encouraging preventative medical approaches and providing supportive care and realistic goals to improve health outcome.
