Biography
Prof Dr Rehan Umer started his career as a researcher in combined disciplines of aerospace and mechanical engineering within research institutes and university environment in Europe, Australasia, USA and Asia. Since 2004, engaged in the design and fabrication of light-weight fiber reinforced composite materials, management of research projects and activities for aerospace, automotive and marine applications. Currently working as Assistant Professor in the aerospace engineering department and assistant director of Aerospace Research and Innovation Center (ARIC) at Khalifa University Abu Dhabi, UAE. Published research papers in books, refereed journals, presented a number of papers at various international conferences. Over all a hardworking, motivated, and responsible individual with excellent communication skills.
Research Interest
Sustainable “green” composites and their manufacturing. Processing using liquid composite molding (LCM), autoclave and out of autoclave manufacturing, automated fiber placement (AFP). Composite design, characterisation and optimization of properties, process modeling, nano composite processing, Bio inspired structures, Lattice structures, sandwich structures, and aerospace coatings.
