Dr. Gautam Lahiri

Biography

 Dr. Gautam completed his Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery-Calcutta University, India in 1980 and attained his Masters in Surgery- Pune University, India in 1990. He has a vast clinical experience of over 30 years having worked at reputed healthcare institutions and facilities including Ministry of Defence, Indian Army Medical Corp and Jabalpur Hospital and Research Hospital, India. Dr. Gautam specialises in general surgery procedure including intraabdominal and intrathoracic surgery with minimal access and use of GI stapler, haemorrhoid stapler, RF/IF probe assisted surgery of anorectum. He is also adept in laparoscopic surgeries including single port laparoscopic surgery for cholecystectomy, appendectomy, laparoscopic hernioplasty, bariatric surgery (sleeve resection, gastric banding etc), use of endostapler, hand assisted lap-splenectomy and liver cyst removal. He can also manage hepatobiliary surgeries such as CBD reconstruction, segmental liver resection, percutaneous/open drainage of liver cyst, management of pancreatic and bile duct calculi.

Research Interest

 OGD & colonoscopy-Biopsy, foreign body removal, oesophageal dilation/stenting, PEG, sclerotherapy/banding, antral stenting and colonoscopic polypectomy.
