Biography
Helen Lockett joined the College of Aeronautics at Cranfield University as a Teaching Fellow in 1997. She has a BSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sussex and undertook her PhD entitled ""A Knowledge Based Manufacturing Advisor for CAD"" as a staff candidate while working at Cranfield. In 2001 Helen was promoted to Lecturer and became Course Director for the Aircraft Engineering MSc. She was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2009. Helen Lockett is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society. She is also a STEM Ambassador and participant in the Royal Aeronautical Society Speakers for Schools programme and has worked with local schools and businesses to encourage young people to consider careers in Engineering.
Research Interest
Helen Lockett undertakes research in aircraft design for assembly and manufacture with a particular interest in designing for Additive Manufacture.
