Athinyaa Thiraviaraj

Biography

Dr Thiraviaraj is a consultant Physician in Diabetes & Endocrinology in Derry, Northern Ireland. Her special interests are young person diabetes care (including transition), diabetes in pregnancy and Type 1 diabetes. She is co-chair of Transition Diabetes at the Northern Ireland Diabetes Network. Athinyaa is a cohort 9 fellow at the Scottish Quality & Safety Fellowship. The diabetes care model @DiabetesWest is strongly influenced by the empowerment philosophy. She strongly believes that the way to better outcomes for people living with diabetes (PWD) can only be achieved with true empowerment - of both PWD and health care professionals.
