Biography
Graham Leese is Professor of Diabetes and Endocrinology in Dundee, and formerly Lecturer in Liverpool. He is Clinical Lead of services in Tayside, Scotland. He has been involved in retinal screening for about 25 years, and helped develop mobile retinal screening in Tayside and Scotland. He was involved in establishing the Scottish Retinal Screening service and linking retinal screening with National electronic diabetes records (SCI-diabetes). He is Lead clinician for retinal screening in Tayside. He has been part of Four Nations Research groups over the years and has investigated the potential for biennial screening most recently. Professor Leese has published widely on diabetes retinal screening. He has also developed and implemented diabetes foot risk stratification across Scotland (the "traffic lights system") as chairman of the Scottish Diabetes Foot Action Group. He has published extensively on foot disease and also in the area of Endocrine epidemiology.
