Biography
I am an Early Career Researcher and full time Lecturer in the Psychology group. I have keen interests in the fields of creativity, incubation, and problem solving, as well as in cognition and attention generally. My PhD project entitled 'Creativity and Attention: a Multi-Method Investigation' included experiments comparing those with and without ADHD in creative and attention performance. Since beginning the lectureship here, I have continued with my research interest in creativity, and I am currently investigating the Unusual Uses Test, and how this may be optimised for successful and consistent implementation. I am managing this project, and have four undergraduate psychology students helping with data collection. I am a founding member of the UK Creativity Researchers group, and organised the first annual conference meeting, which took place at Edinburgh Napier on May 17th, 2017. This was organised in collaboration with Dr Gillian Hill and Dr Shelly Kemp from the University of Buckingham. My teaching interests are broad, as I enjoy teaching on a large variety of modules across the Psychology programmes.
