Biography
Sarah Eardley-Weaver is a lecturer at Queens university Belfast, PhD in Translation Studies (Durham University), is Lecturer in Translation and Interpreting, specializing in French, Italian and German. She is currently working on projects investigating innovative translation methods targeted primarily at the blind and partially-sighted as well as the deaf and hard-of-hearing within the arts, education and health sectors, promoting recognition of accessibility as a human right.
Research Interest
-arts accessibility - social inclusion and cohesion - intercultural, intersemiotic communication - opera translation - sensory perception - translation for audiences with varying visual and hearing disability and ability - sign language interpreting - audio description and touch tours - subtitles / surtitles - captioning (for the deaf and hard-of-hearing).
