Biography
Dr Gurcharan Singh is Programme Director for the MSc in Accounting & Finance, the MSc in Finance and Investmentand the MSc in Financial Service Management. He joined Buckingham in January 2011 from the University of Malaya, where he was Senior Lecturer in the Department of Financial Accounting and Audit for five years. Before that he worked in industry, as Group Financial Controller at Mangium Industries.
Research Interest
Gurcharan is an active researcher who received a number of research grants in Malaysia. The most recent, in 2008/9, was for a joint project with the University of Sheffield on Coupling and Decoupling Of Selected Asian Markets against Foreign Developed Markets. His areas of expertise are in finance (portfolio management, investment, corporate finance) and operational research (non-parametric data, wavelet decomposition). He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Accounting and Finance and was a reviewer for the Asian Journal of Business and Accounting.
