Biography

Steven Sterin is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Andeavor. He is also President, Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors for Andeavor Logistics GP, LLC.  Mr. Sterin joined Andeavor in 2014, bringing nearly 20 years of financial leadership to his role. As EVP and Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Sterin has over 10 years of large public company CFO experience and is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s financial functions including: investor relations, business planning and analysis, capital markets and treasury, accounting and controlling, customer credit, internal audit, enterprise risk management, and tax. In addition, Mr. Sterin is responsible for the company’s information technology and cyber security services.  In addition to his role as Chief Financial Officer of Andeavor, Mr. Sterin is also President of Andeavor Logistics (NYSE: ANDX). In this role, Mr. Sterin is responsible for the overall strategy, growth, and business performance for this leading mid-stream full service logistics company.  Prior to Andeavor, Mr. Sterin was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Celanese Corporation, a global technology and specialty material company, for seven years. During this time, he was also President of Celanese’s Advanced Fuel Technologies business. Mr. Sterin joined Celanese in 2003 as Director of Finance and Controller for the company’s chemical business and also served as Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer before being appointed CFO in 2007. In 2012, the Dallas Business Journal recognized him as CFO of the Year for large public companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  Prior to Celanese, Mr. Sterin spent six years with global chemicals company Reichhold, Inc. – a subsidiary of Dainippon Ink & Chemicals - in a variety of financial positions, including Director of Tax and Treasury in the Netherlands, Global Treasurer and Vice President of Finance. Mr. Sterin started his professional career at Price Waterhouse in 1995.  Mr. Sterin holds a Master of Professional Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, which he earned concurrently at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a certified public accountant in Texas. Mr. Sterin has also served as a member of the Dean’s advisory council at the McCombs School of Business (University of Texas at Austin).
