Dr. Roy Mcgrann
Associate Professor
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Binghamton University
United States of America
Biography
Dr. McGrann is the Undergraduate Director for the Mechanical Engineering Department. He is also co-Director of the Watson School Minor in Sustainability Engineering. For fifteen years prior to joining the department, he was engaged in steel production and fabrication (primarily associated with the petro-chemical industry), performing production management, machine design, project engineering, engineering management and executive management. He served on several national standards committees including ASTM, ANSI/AWS and MSS committees. During this time, Dr. McGrann maintained his registration as a professional engineer (PE). He is a member of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He is also a member of several other professional societies including AWS (American Welding Society), and SHOT (Society for the History of Technology). Dr. McGrann is a member of the national engineering honor societies Tau Beta Pi, Pi Tau Sigma (ME), and Eta Kappa Nu (EE).
