Biography
Pamela Mulcock earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Idaho State University and her Bachelor of Science from Boise State University. She joined the School of Nursing in the fall of 2007. Mulcock brings with her 12 years of clinical nursing experience from a variety of Medical/Surgical nursing assignments. Because of this background, she is passionate about the diverse, challenging care of the adult patient population. Since a Medical/Surgical nurse will eventually care for almost every adult patient, she likes to focus her teaching in this unique specialty.
Research Interest
Mulcock is equally passionate about teaching nursing students and has taught a variety of courses in the undergraduate nursing program. She is currently researching a new clinical model for students, called HomeBase, where the instructor moves along with students to subsequent clinical courses. The instructional design of this pilot course is based on Cognitive Load Theory.
