Biography
Marcia Kayath, MD, is Vice President and Head of US Clinical Development and Medical Affairs for US General Medicines at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NPC). She is responsible for US Medical Affairs, US Clinical Development, and Regulatory Affairs for Advertising and Promotion. In addition, she oversees Early Development and HEOR in partnership with the Head of Early Development, Strategy, and BD&L. Marcia serves on the US General Medicines Executive Committee, NPC Pharma Executive Committee, Clinical Operations Analytics & Regions (COAR) leadership team, and the Global Development leadership team. Marcia joins US GenMeds from Global Development, where she served as Senior Global Program Head in the Cardio-metabolic franchise. Previously, she was Head of Clinical Development, Medical Affairs and HEOR for the Latin America and Canada region. Marcia came to Novartis in 2005, and has held several leadership roles for multiple products in Oncology Global Medical Affairs and as Regional Medical Head for Oncology in Latin America. Marcia began her career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1998, after several years as an associate researcher at the Federal University of São Paulo. She held positions at Eli Lilly and Pfizer as a medical director, with major focus on clinical development, medical affairs, and pharmacoeconomics in several therapeutic areas including endocrinology, metabolism, intensive care, women’s health, men’s health, and oncology.
