Biography
Colonel John Hansen, USAF, Retired, is the vice president of business development for Sierra Nevada Corporation’s Information & Sensor Solutions (ISS) business area. During his 23 years in the U.S. Air Force, Col. Hansen acted in many roles including as commander of the 55th Operations Group, the largest in the USAF with more than 3,200 personnel operating 33 diverse aircraft at four Operating Locations. His time in the Air Force led him to accrue more than 3,000 flying hours, while also developing policy, leading multilateral negotiations, and overseeing staff, operations, budgeting and internal/external tasking across a number of positions. Col. Hansen also focused on developing cross-domain mastery of joint air, space and cyberspace power and its strategic contributions to national security, skills that are critical to his work with SNC’s ISS business area, which provides scalable, integrated sensor system solutions for security customers around the globe. Col. Hansen holds master’s degrees in both strategic studies and aeronautical science technology from Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base and Embry Riddle University, respectively. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida in marketing and management.
