Charles W. Olson

Biography

Charlie W. Olson is Senior Vice President of Commercial and Business Development for the Medical Devices business unit. Charlie joined Surmodics in July 2001 as Market Development Manager, was named General Manager of Hydrophilic Technologies in April 2004, and was promoted to Vice President and General Manager, Hydrophilic Technologies in October 2004. In April 2005, he added the responsibilities of Vice President, Sales and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Business Development and Marketing in March 2010. In October 2010, he was named Senior Vice President and General Manager for the medical device business unit. Before joining Surmodics, Charlie was employed as General Manager at Minnesota Extrusion and worked at Lake Region Manufacturing in project management and technical sales. Charlie received a BSBA degree in Marketing from Winona State University in 1987.
