Biography
Professor Shaoqin pursued her Sarah Gong BS in year 1991 from Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China and BS 1991 from Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China she further did her MS in year 1994 from Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China and her PhD in year 1999 from Materials Science and Engineering, University of Prof. Gong's research group focuses on the design, synthesis/fabrication, and characterization of novel materials and devices. Many of her on-going projects are multidisciplinary, bridging engineering with materials science, chemistry, and the life sciences. Some of her on-going efforts include- Multifunctional nanocarriers (e.g., unimolecular nanoparticles, polymer Michigan-Ann Arbor. micelles and vesicles, polymer nanocages, functionalized inorganic nanoparticles) for combined delivery of therapeutic and diagnostic agents which can be used to treat and diagnose various types of diseases (e.g., cancers, vascular diseases, liver diseases, and eye diseases).
Research Interest
Biomaterials (e.g., multifunctional drug nanocarriers, theranostic nanomedicines, and tissue engineering scaffolds), multifunctional polymer nanocomposites, and functional devices (e.g., flexible electronics, supercapacitors, nanogenerators, and sensors)
