Biography
Ken Young is honored to return to his alma mater as Director of Forensics to continue the tradition of Bradley University Speech Team excellence established by L.E. Norton, refined by George Armstrong, and propelled, most recently, by Dan Smith. After receiving his B.S. in Communication-Public Relations from Bradley, Ken attended Northern Illinois University where he received his M.A. in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Rhetoric. During his tenure as a forensics educator, Ken has coached multiple students to national and state championships at both the high school and collegiate levels. Ken comes to the hilltop after four years at James Madison University where, in 2010, the American Forensic Association National Individual Events Tournament presented Ken with the Outstanding New Forensic Coach Award for his leadership and innovation in forensics. His research interests include: Forensics, Forensics Pedagogy, Public Speaking, Professional Communication, and Presidential Rhetoric.
