Biography
Bavand Karim is a writer and producer of independent films and television programs, including the award-winning documentaries Nation of Exiles and Hate Crimes in the Heartland. His major motion picture credits include Weightless, Knight of Cups, Birdman, Maps to the Stars, American Hustle, Captain America: Winter Soldier, The Avengers, and more. Bavand's creative and academic activity intersects American media and national identity, cinematic representations of masculinity, and social media and human rights. He directs Studio TV Production courses in the Tufte Performance and Production Center.
