Douglas Kim

Biography

Prior to joining Janelia, Doug worked from 2008-2010 as a Senior Research Fellow in the Neurobiology, Neurodegeneration and Repair Laboratory, led by Anand Swaroop at the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. From 2002-2008, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Constance L. Cepko in the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. In 2002, he earned his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology working in the laboratory of Richard D. Palmiter in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. He received his A.B. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey, in 1996. Currently, Doug is Program Scientist for Janelia's Genetically-Encoded Neuronal Indicator and Effector (GENIE) Project.
