Biography
Dr. Hannis Thompson joined AlloSource in December 2007 as Medical Director. His primary responsibility is reviewing every donor record to determine donor eligibility. Prior to joining AlloSource, Dr. Thompson was a faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Medicine for 15 years, where he was medical director of Transfusion Services and involved in resident education and training. Dr. Thompson received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and holds a Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed residency training at Indiana University Medical Center and completed a fellowship in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He is active in the American Association of Tissue Banks, as well as other professional associations associated with laboratory medicine.
