Chris Holmes

Biography

Chris serves as President & CEO of Smiths Medical, a £836M ($1.2B) division of Smiths Group, plc, that manufacturers specialty medical devices for the world’s healthcare markets. He also serves as a member of Smiths Group’s Executive Committee. Chris joined Smiths Medical in December 2015, to lead the company's Global Operations function. He brings with him to Smiths Medical more than 25 years of experience with a track record of driving results in both business and operations. Over his career Chris has delivered outstanding financial performance for the functions and businesses he’s led by focusing on customers and their requirements; driving operational excellence, quality and cost; and by coaching and developing people. Chris joined Smiths Medical from 3M Corporation where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain. Prior to that, Chris held the role of Executive Vice President of 3M’s Industrial Business Group, in addition to several senior leadership roles with 3M as a division general manager and operations leader during his 28 year career with the company. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, from Sheffield Hallam University​.
