Biography
Dr. Ronald Ragan received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Kansas in 1984 and was licensed to practice pharmacy that same year. He served as the Pharmacist-in-charge and manager of a professional community pharmacy for five years and a staff pharmacist in a health-system pharmacy for two years prior to his return to graduate school to pursue advanced studies. He earned his M.S. (1997) and his Ph.D. (1998) in Pharmacology from the University of Kansas in the laboratory of Drs. Mary L. and Eli Michaelis where his studies were in the broad area of neurobiology. In 1998 he accepted his first academic appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of the Non-Traditional PharmD (NTPD) Program at The University of Kansas. During this time he oversaw the design and development and managed the day-to-day operation of the NTPD program.
