Biography

 Dr. Krieger has participated in and led multiple public health evaluations, health impact assessments, human rights impact assessments, and risk assessments in the US and overseas. He has co-authored, edited and published two editions on medical toxicology of hazardous materials textbook that is now used as a reference for the National Library of Medicine (US). He has edited numerous occupational health and environmental practice books, including two texts for the National Safety Council. He was guest editor for the Medical Clinics of North America and lead author for the International Finance Corporation’s “Health Impact Assessment” Toolkit and Good Practice Notes related to “Community Health Performance Standards (No.4).” In addition, he was the lead author (2005) for the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) “Health Impact Assessment Guidelines.”  Dr. Krieger currently serves on two World Health Organization (WHO) technical working groups involving (i) health impact assessment guidance and (ii) ITN recycling. Dr. Krieger has extensive experience with multi-media environmental health issues, including international Health Impact Assessment (HIA), and regulatory-based risk assessments in the United States and in an international setting.  Dr. Krieger is certified in Toxicology, Occupational Medicine, and Internal Medicine and has a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H). Dr. Krieger earned his A.B. in chemistry and English literature.
