Akhentoolove Corbin

Biography

Dr. Akhentoolove Corbin is working as Lecturer in Management Studies in University of the West Indies. He received his PhD - Management Studies, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. I am a specialist in the disciplines of leadership, human resource management/development, business strategy and sustainable competitiveness. Prior to becoming a lecturer at UWI, I provided human resource consulting services to both private and public companies across the Caribbean; in particular, the tourism and hospitality industry and financial services organisations. I love teaching using the case method and student-centred learning strategies. My main research focus is leadership and my unit of analysis is the private firm/organisation. The context of my research is the small island developing state, particularly in the Anglophone Caribbean. My research interests are leadership and competitiveness through innovation and harmony; leadership and human resource management; leadership and performance in cricket. I am very interested in collaborative research with Caribbean and global researchers. I am very interested in discussing potential research projects with other researchers whose interest may cross my research agenda. I am also the coordinator of the Unit for Leadership Competitiveness and Harmony (UNLEACH). This Unit has responsibility for the coordination of the implementation of the MOU between DOMS and HRMAB.
