Biography

Anthony Patrick Wood is an economist and lecturer at UWI Cave Hill. A graduate of Harrison College and the University of the West Indies, he earned his M. Phil in Economics at Cambridge University. A distinguished researcher, he used this experience to great advantage in education when he served as Minister of Education, Youth Affairs & Sports. Mr. Wood was also Minister of Energy & Public Utilities and Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development. While having ministerial responsibility for Education, he served on the University Council and the governing body of UWI. He is currently Coordinator of the MSc. Banking and Finance programme at Cave Hill. Mr. Wood is a highly respected local sports administrator, serving as the President of the Eastern Sports Club, previously as Vice-President of the Sunrise Community Club and also as President of the Barbados Pool Development Organisation.
