Mr. Lucas Llach, Ph.D. serves as First Deputy Governor and Director at Banco Central de la República Argentina SA. Mr. Llach is to perform the duties as assigned or delegated by the Governor and to substitute the latter in case of absence, impediment or vacancy (BCRA Charter, Section 13). As economist and historian, he has devoted a large part of his professional career to the academic life. His main research field is the economic history of Argentina, a subject on which he wrote his doctoral thesis. He has authored several articles and books aimed at scholars and the general public. He was an academy professor as well as Director of the History Department and of the master’s program in Public Policy at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. He obtained a PhD in History at Harvard University. He also holds a BA degree in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT), where he attended graduate courses.
