Biography
He graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Tecnológica de Mendoza, Argentina. He qualified as IMD Managing Corporate Resources from Lausanne University and studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1987 he joined YPF and held various positions as Operations Manager, Director of the La Plata Refinery, Director of Operational Planning, Director of Trade and Transport in Latin America, Director of Refining and Marketing in Peru, Country Manager for Peru and R&M for Peru, Chile, Ecuador and Brazil. He was Alternate Director of YPF from March 2008 to June 2012 and Director from 2012 until 2016. Mr. Alfonsi was our Refinery and Logistic Executive Director between January 2008 and May 2012 and our Downstream Executive Vice President from June 2010 to August 2017. He is currently He has been an Alternate Director since April 2016 and our Executive Vice President of Operations and Transformation since August 2017.
